Τίτλος: Random symplectic lattices and equidistribution

Περίληψη: Lattice point counting has a long history and deep connections to number theory
and geometry. Classical results of Siegel and Rogers give us moments of the Euclidean lattice point counting function, exploiting the homogeneous structure on the space of lattices. In this talk we introduce a new Rogers type formula due to the author and Jayadev Athreya for the space of symplectic lattices: we express the second moment of the counting function in terms of geometric and arithmetic data from the sympletic group. As an application, we bound the discrepancy of random symplectic lattices in families of Borel sets.
